My Top Nine Photography Moments I Captured In 2018

This collage features my personal favorite Top 9 moments I captured, from traveling & discovering new places, to trying & learning new techniques. Equipment: Camera: Canon EOS 80D, Lenses Used for these photos: Canon Zoom EF 70-300mm 1:4-5:6 L IS USM Telephoto Zoom Lens, SIGMA 14-24mm F/2.8 DG Art Lens, Canon EF 50mm F/1.8 STM Lens, Tripod: Manfrotto (Pro)Master Professional Specialist SP528 SPH45P

Before every New Year begins, I like to check myself by taking a moment to reflect on where I've been & where I am, so I can see where I want to go.

Every year I give myself personal challenges. I like to write down my goals, and at the end of the year I revisit my  list, see how far I've  come & realize my accomplishments. If there's anything I didn't accomplish on that list, I don't get down on myself about it, I just add it to my list of goals for the New Year.

In order to discover personal growth, it helps to stop, breathe, take a look in the mirror in order to see yourself for who you are & what you've become. Do you like who you are & where you are? It's never to late to change or to live your dreams! The only thing that ever gets in the way, is ourselves! Where there is a will, there is a way. If you want it, work hard, focus, plan & do it!
Life can get in the way of our plans sometimes, it certainly did for me this year with my achilles tendon injury at work. Life forced me to stop everything I had planned & this injury has been one of my biggest challenges in life, but I truly believe everything happens for a reason. The lessons might not always be clear at first, but from past experiences I know that the lessons eventually present themselves and are here to build our perspective, focus & progression. 2018 has had many ups & downs, but I'll stay focused on the ups so I can move ahead to a better tomorrow.

I've always valued my alone time, and during my recovery from my injury, I've had lots of it! Trust me, take some time for yourself today. It helps spark creativity, allows you to clear your mind, meditate, focus & plan your goals!

As I sit here looking back on 2018, I am truly grateful for the incredible moments I was able to experience & capture!

I am looking forward to a great New Year & what's to come in 2019.
