9/11 Fighting Darkness

Fighting Darkness...911 is a very difficult day for me, as it is for many others...Especially for us New Yorkers! It was one of the worst days of my life, it's a real bad nightmare that will never go away. I was in LA when I started getting all the phone calls. I've never felt so many emotions at once: I was so upset & felt so helpless! I did the only thing I could do...Create! I sat their crying for hours on end while I sketched & painted a red, white & blue butterfly on my Yamaha Guitar & then I spent the rest of the day & into the next morning writing, writing, rewriting...resulting in a song I wrote a song called "Fighting Darkness". I had a music gig booked downstairs at the Coconut Teaszer in The "Crooked Bar", shortly after 911. I was struggling whether or not to do the show & my mom in NYC suggested I do it as a tribute show! I decided to do it & this was one of the most emotional performances I've had to date. It was recorded live & I held off on doing anything with it for a while. I later decided to release the recordings as my first album, as a Tribute to those brave souls that sacrificed their lives and to all of us survivors. I dedicated my first album to life, liberty & to the peaceful pursuit of Happiness. Every day is a blessing & I am truly grateful for another one! Thank you to all of those who sacrifice their lives & fight to protect us every day! All the FireFighters, Police Officers, Military men & women...Thank you! These songs are for you!
